Is it possible to buy the middle seat (and not occupy it)?
I wonder if the hive mind can help…

I’m a big guy- 6ft2 and quite wide and usually fly in CE so mainly benefit from the empty middle seat. As I am GfL I end up paying a hefty premium as lounge/fast track etc… I get by virtue of the Gold card.

on EasyJet and Ryanair it is possible to buy a seat and the adjacent seat as a ‘comfort seat’, which I’ve done a few times and it’s not that costly.

Does anyone know if this is possible in BA economy…?
