I booked Basic Econ Tickets for myself (Star Alliance Gold) and partner (Star Alliance Silver) from PSP to YVR to YCC on Jan 2 at 8pm PST in hopes the computer would assign seats together at flight time in March. Got a confirmation it was ticketed at 8:42p.

Email I later got showed it was "processed on 1/3". I called and was told since it was processed on 1/3, we no longer got a free carry-ons (even though I am Gold). When I questioned this more, the agent said "yah, something is wrong here, I've never seen this before" and put me on hold... Came back saying supervisor said it would go by the ticketed time so I was "good" and she'd put a note on the reservation so nobody would question it at check in or at the gate.

She also checked and told me I would both get 2 free bags and sent me a link (see below) where "I can check for myself the policies". When I go to that link, it say's I get 1st bag free but partner pays. My reservation on the AC website shows $50CAD for 1st bag for both of us. https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/...baggage.html#/

I guess we'll see what happens at the airport where likely the agent (who lives in S. California) won't know what's going on.
