I want to add a positive data point (of course, it's just my experience), since I do see a lot of negative reviews. I flew them a couple months ago from RAK to ORY. Booked in economy, was upgraded at the gate to business as OWE. I was chatting with another passenger while boarding, and it sounds like upgrades happen fairly frequently on short haul flights as RAM like to oversell economy.
Of course, I was primed to appreciate the flight, as I was expecting to travel in Y. But I thought it was really superb - the best short haul experience I had in a while. It seems they put special effort into catering their Paris flights, but it was really impressive. After PDB and hot towel in the air, FA passed through offering Laurent Perrier champagne and a snack. Then appetizer. Then main (a really delicious tagine for me) and dessert. Then cheese course with bread, served to order from a cheese cart. Then Moroccan mint tea and chocolate. This all for a three hour flight. All of the options were described in the menu, with FA readily responding to any requests.
I recently had a couple of flights in J on TK, including IST-CDG (which seems like a fair comparison), and the catering on those was good, but not as good as what I had on this AT flight.
Again, this is just my experience from one flight. But I came away really impressed. I imagine the product is less good on routes where they don't compete with AF. But I would look forward to flying them again ex-ORY/CDG.
