ASR in Y/PE on longhaul ticket has not been free for anyone except SEN/HON for quite a while ( in 2017 they dropped all exceptions): https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/luft...long-haul.html

What is new is that you can't change the assigned seat after checkin. Gate/lounge agents can.
