Apologies if this has already been asked, I tried a brief search and didn't seem to find anything.

We are due to travel with 2 children to Sharm (17th Feb) in a few weeks, and just had a query regarding the seating with the children. I went today to have a look at the seating map today and despite there being 4 of us, only 3 seats were available to book, none of which are next to each other. One of our children is 3, whilst the other is 8. We are not looking to move anyone that has paid for their seats, but as there are only 3 options available to book I wondered what BA's protocol here is. Will they try and seat the children next to us as best as possible? Whilst the 8 year old is probably ok to sit next to someone else, the 3 year old will have no ability to sit by themselves and likely to cause a nuisance if they did.

Is it worth reaching out to BA in the meantime to see if we can book seats together, or just wait until check in. We only have Bronze Status so could choose seats 7 days out, but doesn't look like there are options anyway.
