Its the latter, a US style plug for everyone. Its crap in a way because you end up with TWO boxes, the empower adaptor and your own power adaptor. If you are going to use it regularly, I would advise getting one specific to your computer, no doubt cheaper than the 'duty free' price (like everything else ).
