QR have an obsession with seemingly randomly blocking/unlocking the Quad seats. I’ve found calling the Doha number that is listed when you open the seat maps often leads to the best result with it connecting to knowledgable agents who are able to unblock seats for you and help you book what you desire. I’ve noticed the unblocked maps randomly get blocked again after a certain period of time. This has been my experience in my last couple of QR itineraries including an upcoming BA issued award ticket.
