Post not a bargain - thankfully

Yes, payment hassle is best avoided and hopefully Milei can float the Peso sometime not too far in the distant future and that will make everything "normal" again.

And yes, Argentina under normal circumstances is (and should not want to be) a bargain for visitors... on the contrary, it should aim to be one of the more expensive tourist destinations in South America, while at the same time offering an experience that cannot be missed. Bargain prices are not conducive to that.... and there are enough places around the world that can offer bargains. Buenos Aires in particular - and Argentina in general, does not need to be one of them.
