Hi - back again. I am trying to book my return flight, and have an option of doing LIS-MAD-DFW. The problem is that the layover in MAD is only 1 hour, and i dont know if that is enough time to make the connecting flight to DFW. I am coming from lisbon so not sure if i will have to do any security or passport control. Also the airline for lis-mad is called Air Nostrum not sure how this airline is. Are they like a low cost carrier like spirit where i have to pay for bags, seats etc? Thanks.
Connecting in MAD on your way from LIS to the US, you do not have to clear security; however, you will have to pass through passport controls to exit the Schengen zone.
Air Nostrum is Iberia's regional carrier, it is a
oneworld affiliate. It operates for IB just as American Eagle does for American Airlines, United Express for United and Delta Connection for Delta.
It's a tight connection, but if it is all on one ticket, you will have the same luggage allowance as for your transatlantic flight and there is no reason for concern, as you will be protected on a later flight or different routing in case of a missed connection.
