Somewhat related, my post-status-match WN A+ to NK Gold experiment is working out better than I'd thought- 4 of 5 of my Seat Bids to BFS (their version of "F") have been granted (and with the minimum bid each time) and the 5th was Op-UPed ('cause I'm Gold) after someone no-showed, I've spent less $$ on 2 RTs than I would have OW on WN (being Gold means you aren't subject to the NK nickle-and-diming) and haven't done a WN trip all year- partially due to WN pricing like ~$600 SAN-SJC-SAN less than 7 days out.

NK has only two NS out of SNA (and only 3 out of SAN) and apparently when they melt down it's a isht show, but so far, so good ... let's see what happens when I go to DTW and FLL later this year (I have to earn a bunch of SQPs ("Elite-qualifying points") before 3/28 then I can keep it all year) but even then I can red-eye on NK, which means I don't lose the day going.

Hell, even the WiFi (free for Golds) is faster- I'm on it now :|
