I had the Platinum card for a couple of years but could not justify the value any longer (mainly as I get travel insurance through HSBC Premier) and the membership offers generally seemed to be for Chelsea based olive oil merchants & suchlike. I called to cancel and got offered the Gold card for free for a year however 12 months later I decided I this was not worth the £195 fee and further downgraded to the Amex Rewards Credit Card. I am happy with this as the points earning is basically the same as Gold, I get decent member offers and there is no fee. IMO, the £195 fee for gold is simply not worth 4 lounge passes, the bonus points for spending £5k, bonus points on travel and £5 credits on Deliveroo (especially as I live in a village where Deliveroo is not offered).

I have a free BA Amex and now that BA have gutted the BAEC, I might actually get the BA Premium Card to go for a 241 and blow my Avios balance on a trip in F.
