Amex UK - Are the cards still worth it?

Hi All,

I just wanted to see if anyone in the UK with (mainly) travel-related cards is starting to feel like these cards are still worth keeping. With Amex:
- I've had the BA Premium Amex - I've now downgraded to the free BA card (and will likely cancel this),
- I have the Marriott Amex (for the 15 nights)
- I have the Platinum card (which seems to continue to decrease in value/use and will likely cancel or downgrade)

Over the recent 12 - 18 months I've noticed the level of service decreasing significantly, benefits becoming worse or disappearing (for example no more HN voucher), devaluation of Membership Rewards points etc, however, fees still remain high. One of the benefits is the Priority Pass for lounge access, however, these lounges are full all the time it seems and often are poor or deteriorating lounges. I assume the rental car insurance and travel insurance are decent benefits (I've not used them so can't really discuss how good they are), but I'm fairly sure you can purchase those insurance products for a small price.

I used to have the Gold card, which is probably a decent card - and I will likely go back to that card from the platinum and cancel the other cards.

With the significant change in direction of BA's future around status, loyalty etc - are there many that will keep their BA cards or cancel them?

I'd be keen to know if others in the UK feel the same as me or still find their Amex cards to still be beneficial and worth the fees?
