Unfortunately useless for me as they are still not matching GGL to Ulti which I was hoping they would. As I am already Plat for Life, this isn't useful in my case.
Having said that, as I mentioned elsewhere, I was quite certain that either AFKL or LHG as well as VS would undoubtedly have a specific offer to target those unhappy with the BAEC change. My guess is that for a number of people, this will be a no brainer. AF has vastly improved in recent years, and frankly, the AF F, long haul J and Y experience is, in my view, significantly superior to BA's. Besides, KL whilst a notch below in my opinion has become a very solid airline and offers exceptional connectivity and transfers from the UK regions. Of course, VS's membership of ST and DL's strong recent improvements also make for a good nonstop network from London and Manchester and excellent options via JFK and ATL to the whole of North America.
Change is never easy, but if I were to venture a guess, it would be that assuming that FB does not deteriorate (and I have no reason to believe it will - most recent changes have been actual improvements, including to Ulti perks, ending change and cancellation fees for all platinums for award tickets, and a lowering of entry level costs for awards), those who will take the offer will most likely not look back any time soon.
