On the zero-dark-40 BCN-LHR this morning.

Aircraft was half full and departed on time. Got my usual 20 minutes cat-nap on the climb out.

Missed the free water - that was my fault. But sometimes they leave a bottle on the seat for me.

So I ordered a coffee when the cart came round again. £3 - a bargain!

Around halfway through the flight, the crew came round and asked if I wanted Champagne. I’d just finished my coffee.

Now if they want to reward my Gold status, how about offering a free coffee at the point I was about to pay for one?

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind Champagne, but it was 0730 local and they didn’t seem to have any caviar to pair it with.

If anyone can explain what I’m doing wrong, I’m all ears.
