Major Con:
  • The points availability is laughable here - their categorization of standard rooms feels like intentional gaming of the system and does not feel pro-consumer

Pros:
  • I was reached out to via email several days ahead of my stay and they asked if I would prefer a king bed as “I normally stay in king bedrooms” - I told them sure (and told them I booked 2 Twins due to limited points availability) and they responded that they upgraded me to a Bay View King - upon arrival, only the Sky Suite was available online so I didn’t get any further upgrade
  • The design is very nice and feels very Japanese
  • Great views - though, I would have preferred a Tower view
  • The bathtub is massive and lovely
  • Shower pressure is good
  • Couch by window is large and comfortable
  • While room wasn’t ready until 4 PM, they asked how they could make it up, and when I asked for something sweet, they took me to the Pastry Shop for a dessert while I waited
  • Asked for 3 PM late checkout, and received it with no issue
  • Breakfast is good - unlimited main dish selections, good pancakes (though, I thought HTH was better), preferred the omelet, enjoyed the unique hashbrowns, good coffee

Neutral:
  • I think the bed could be improved - mattress is quite firm, and covers could be more plush - pillows are nice and plush, though
  • I think the washlet could be updated as it didn’t feel as pointed as some newer models do

Cons:
  • Check-in process was quite long (long enough for me to finish my full lounge iced latte), and I had to go physically ask for my credit card back at some point as the wait was stressing me out

ElevatorEnthusiast Thanks so much for posting your reviews and all the pictures! I saw your other review of the Hotel Toranomon Hills - so between Andaz and HTH, which one did you prefer (or would return to)? I have an upcoming trip to Tokyo and am torn between staying at HTH in a confirmed Corner Suite (via SUA) vs. Andaz in their standard room. I've never stayed at HTH, but have been back to the Andaz multiple times and really enjoy the property.
