Sorry to revive an old thread but based on my (limited) search skills this seemed the most appropriate. Not a globalist but booked a room and then accepted the upgrade offer for a suite. Is this guaranteed or just an upgrade which will be chargeable on checkin if a suite is available? The upgraded rate was $200 cheaper than the going rate on booking hence why I’m curious if it’s a subject to availability thing like an airline bid type upgrade. Thank you for your help.
No, it's confirmed like the airline upgrades that are confirmed (like on AA, DL, etc.) -- not like the bids on Lufthansa or whatnot.
Carmel Valley Ranch has had some big discounts on the premium suites, but you have to book a basic room (or mid-range room) first to see the offers and then figure out the sweet spot for where the booking price plus the upgrade price offers the best discount.
