Flying Blue Gold by the end of the year. Have to say my motivation to switch away from BA (Gold) is as much KLM starting a new route from an airport 20mins from where I live as the BAEC changes.

These long hauls would probably previously have been booked on QR ex-SOF (for similar prices), so I doubt BA will be too sorry to see me go. Avios balance used up for multiple domestic flights within Australia.

On the flip side, KLM seem poor value on short haul (>£400 return in Y for many European destinations throughout the year & crazy prices in J). But that’s probably one to further on the Flying Blue forum!

I will miss LHR much less than I will BA. Have also switched BA Amex to Amex Gold Preferred Reward.
