That is not the deal I signed up for, I have been getting the companion pass every year on my card anniversary and Alaska has not told me the deal has changed. I only know about it because I glanced at the signup solicitation in the seatback on my last Alaska flight.
Does anyone know if the $6,000 requirement is for everyone or is it only for new card-members?
If they are taking that away I will ditch my Alaska card.
Thanks.
The terms you read inflight are for the new AS/BOA version of the personal card. Sounds like you have the older/no longer offered version where you get the companion cert at card anniversary.
BOA haven’t changed the terms, they just offered an updated version which promotes continued spend. There haven’t been reports of closure notices or card conversions, so take a deep breath as you’re fine.
