In a prior thread, the OP indicated that he was contemplating a small-claims action. Take a look at paragraph 3(3) of the procedures promulgated under the Nova Scotia Small Claims Court Act:

I expect that the clerk of the particular small claims court in which the OP intends to sue can also provide guidance as to method of service.
