This time, I had walked back to the mid section business class toilets and on exiting, waited for the flight attendant to walk down the aisle so I could walk back up. When she reached me, she very snappily said 'Ma'am! You need to use the toilets in economy, not in business!'.

I've seen flight attendants on BA become abrupt (not rude) with a passenger when they were doing things they shouldn't have such as availing themselves of services in a cabin class for which they had not paid.
If you are encountering "something each time I fly" perhaps the problem is not the flight attendants.
