Flights of a certain distance in business class earn you 140 TPs, generally irrespective of the particular OW airline you fly with.
If you have been gold for nearly 20 years are you anywhere close to lifetime gold? If so it might be worth considering to continue to credit flights to BA. I assume from what you have written that in the new BAC you would get to at least Bronze which would still have seat selection (at 7 days) and group 3 priority boarding. I think you could still use your QFF OWS card to access the lounge and possibly fast track in the event you didn't reach Silver with BA.
QFF although far from identical is structured in a very similar way to BAEC with the earning levels of Qantas Status Credits being in many cases similar to the current BA Tier Points, and the levels for achieving Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald likewise similar. I would be very surprised if QFF does not also move to a revenue model in the next few years.
