I have been once on a CRJ-700 from LEX to ORD which got diverted to IND after cabin pressure loss.

But we as passengers didn't know it was cabin pressure loss until we landed. Zero information provided to the passengers.

From our perspective:
We feel some turbulence, and suddenly oxygen masks come down.
I see the FA running to her jump seat. No info to passengers.
A minute or so after, the pilot announces that we are diverting and will be touching down in 5 minutes at IND. No reason provided to us.
People are calm and wearing their O2 masks. The descent was very very shaky all the way until we touched ground.

Only after we reach the gate the pilot tells us it was due to cabin pressure loss. We deboard, and I manage to get in to the next flight (a scheduled IND-ORD CRJ-700 flight leaving in 30 minutes.). Clearly many others weren't so lucky and got stranded for the night at IND.

Also United at the time also gave me a $400 travel certificate "for the trouble". Back when they were more generous with certificates.
