I'll gladly run the numbers with you to make sure my previous "+80% Avios by crediting to Iberia" statement wasn't a miscalculation as I was just doing a theoretical comparison to see where I'd end up if I had credited all those flights to IB instead...
I have AY Silver status but I'll use my wife's data (no status) to keep things simple:
LPA-HEL: Y class = 1,878 Avios
HEL-SIN: T class = 3,066 Avios
SIN-HEL: P class = 2,496 Avios
HEL-LPA: Y class = 1,488 Avios
==========
Total: 8,928 Avios (and tier points) awarded (15,000 tier points required for AY Silver status)
For the calculations below I've taken the miles distances from the internet as follows:
LPA-HEL: 2,940 miles
HEL-SIN: 5,760 miles
Had the flights been credited to IB the following Avios should have been credited (according to distance flown):
LPA-HEL: Y class (1:1 ratio) = 2,940 Avios
HEL-SIN: T class (1:1 ratio) = 5,760 Avios
SIN-HEL: P class (1:1 ratio) = 5,760 Avios
HEL-LPA: Y class (1:1 ratio) = 2,940 Avios
==========
Total: 17,400 Avios awarded
Tier points should have been awarded as follows: 150 + 425 + 425 + 150 = 1,150 tier points
1,100 tier points are required to reach IB Silver.
When I previously stated +80% more Avios I was probably looking at my own numbers (AY Silver) compared to no status with IB. But when comparing both without status benefits it seems like almost +95% more Avios would be accrued!
