I'd echo this. If everything is on time, they probably should be fine, but given that JFK-GVA is a red-eye, you're going to be running into NYC area rush hour traffic getting to JFK if it's a weekday, which means that LGA-JFK could easily be 45 mins by car (and it wouldn't be unusual, if so). 30 mins to get out of LGA, 15 to get a cab, and then potentially 45 mins to get to JFK (not to mention the mess that is terminal roadway traffic at JFK right now), and you're looking at walking into JFK at best 2 hours before the flight.

They should be okay if they have to stick with LGA, but not a ton of margin for error.
