Am I missing something or has AA completely lost their minds and AA points are no longer of any value. I haven’t booked an award flight for years and have 200k AA points to spend and was shocked to see that wasn’t enough
If it makes you feel better, I have redeemed 485k points F class x 2 for LAX to SYD. That is the world of dynamic pricing we live in now.

For time poor individuals without flexibility for excellent mileage redemptions such as JAL F or the rare QR J/F redemptions; it becomes harder to redeem.

If you have flexibility, you can try FJ flights in business, and was around 280-320k miles when I looked. But has a stop in NAN. I just looked at DFW to BNE; and FJ is 80k in business, if you want to take the long route to SYD.
