I won't book through portals, only straight with United. I do set alerts on Google flights and I usually rebook and cancel(ASAP) the original flight. Repricing through the app can work, too. However, there's no foot dragging or it can change. I had one I looked at yesterday that the change was $1 and today it's $81 but I'm flexible and I can wait or stick with what I have.
