A quick review of our flight from Houston to Bangkok via TPE.

• Lounge in IAH is dire... the staff is good but otherwise it's sad. Tried the Centurion and it was less sad by a bit.
• 777 Seat (3k) was quite good, slept about 8 hours. Feels more spacious that same seats on US carriers.
• Ground and inflight staff were excellent, in many ways better/friendlier than Qatar
• Food was not much, the starter was tiny and the shrimp not fresh. The main which was pork belly was underwhelming. Luckily we were tired and ready to sleep so I didn't sweat it,
• We were nearly an hour late arriving TPE and had tight connections to begin with. They literally ran us up the stairs and to the adjoining gates and on board next plane. Tightest connection I've ever done successfully and a INTL-INTL connection to boot! And our luggage made it too.
• The TPE-BKK flight was excellent all around, better food.

Looking forward to our return when we can see how food ex-TPE stacks up.
