Meal service (continued)
My main was one of the preselect dishes, steamed lobster and claw with gnocchi.

What looks like a brown mess in the photo is a lobster bisque. In real life it was more of a pinkish colour and very tasty. Alas, I didn’t enjoy the lobster! It was meaty but a bit tough, overcooked I guess. Comments earlier about BR lobster dishes being good would not have applied to this particular preparation. Is it because the lobster was originally cooked dry, without sauce, and then heated again, still without any sauce? Perhaps it would have been more succulent if cooked in the bisque?
Gnocchi was very nice as were the other vegetables.
There was no cheese on the menu so the desserts followed:

All quite fine. I do feel that fruit platters are a bit basic, a drizzle of a sauce or syrup of some sort would have lifted it.
I switched to the Chateau Marquis de Terme 2019, or “The French Red” as it is known by the cabin crew! Another tumbler full and a nice wine too.
Sleep
The stewardess brought a mattress cover and made up my bed.
The bed seemed longer than I would have expected, my feet did not touch the end of the coffin and neither was my head next to the seat back. I am 5 foot 9 inches, 1.75m. It was also comfortable with no hard edges half way down my back. Plenty of leg room and I think this is one of the best J beds I have experienced.
Six and a half hours sleep disposed of those tumblers of wine!
