Boarding
Forgot to say earlier but boarding was quick. They called priority boarding for special people (I mean babies, toddlers and so on) and Royal Laurel together and I just walked straight on. The stewardess at the door asked my seat number and quickly pointed to the aisle I should use.

A few airlines still scrutinise a boarding card at the gate, a practice I find annoying, but I suppose a significant number of passengers get their seat number wrong so it probably helps overall boarding.

Meal service
Another glass of champagne appeared, poured at my seat, with a small bowl of nuts and raisins. Although two champagnes were listed on the menu the Piper Heidsieck Rare was not on board. The online wine list had had a third champagne, Grand Dame from Veuve Clicquot but this too was unavailable. These two unavailable ones are much more expensive and I was surprised to see them even offered in J. Even the Duval Leroy was better than most airlines J.

Starter was a balik salmon salad. I liked the orange confit.

I switched from champagne to a nice Chablis. The wines are served in a tumbler rather than a wine glass. However, the volume of the pour is considerable which more than makes up for the lack of refinement !
