The problem I've had is that I can't add any FFP number until the airport counter (the field has disappeared when booking the flight, in manage my booking, and in online checkin), so by the time I can choose any seat for free, the seats I want are usually taken.

A QR chat representative told me when I contacted them about my most recent flight that they expect this to change "soon" so hoping it's a temporary issue.
