Hotel: Rosewood Bangkok
Room Booked: Deluxe Room
Rate: ~US$272/night (including taxes and fees)
Early Check-in: N/A arrived at the hotel at 5PM
Late Checkout: Asked about departure time on arrival and agreed on 3PM
Upgrade: Upgraded at check in to Studio King (3 category upgrade). Was offered two types of suites at check-in, which I first thought they were comping, but then followed with an "upgrade fee" for each -- which were significantly more than than the price at which I could have originally booked these suites -- and was quite an awkward experience. Declined and went with the Studio.
$100 Food & Beverage Credit: This hotel offers US$150 spa, food and beverage credit. On check-in I learnt that they also were providing me an extra US$50 hotel credit due to the "cyber week promotion offer". A total of US$200 credit which translated on check-in to THB 6,858. Note that there were quite a few restrictions on using the credit -- not applicable to spa retail or promotions, beauty salon, in-room dining or minibar.
Breakfast: Buffet at the "Lakorn" restaurant, which was beautiful, and a combination of unlimited a la carte and buffet. Spotted both the GM and Director of F&B there both mornings helping out staff. Very busy over the New Year's period but it was managed well.
Prepaid/Paid at Hotel: Prepaid
Loyalty Points/Benefits Received?: N/A - don't believe Rosewood has a loyalty program.
Comment: Surprisingly shocking outside noise insulation and this property, of which many online reviews complain. Did not hear any inter-room noise leaking issues. Soft product was good but service was extremely formal for Bangkok. The entire hotel was dark -- including in the guest room bathrooms; people trying to apply make-up may experience difficulties here. Used F&B credits for a drink at Lennon's sky bar, and a succulent Chinese meal at Nan Bei -- I would return.
