I know many people already know this, but it's worth repeating: Caller ID is easily spoofed. When receiving a call from a financial institution, never trust the Caller ID. Thank the caller, hang up, and call the number on the back of your card. If the caller mentioned a specific department, the number on the back of your card will be able to transfer you. Even though most people don't take this precaution, any reasonable financial institution has procedures in place to accommodate this. Also, don't be fooled by a Caller ID that already matches the number on the back of your card.
