There is nothing from OAK, SJC, or even SMF that will work - they all leave before you are due to land. So the UA is the only option. That is full in F but still is showing 9+ on Experflyer down the back.

A fully refundable Y one-way (the cheaper E+ is non-ref) is $384 and open to purchase on the UA app. So back to my first question - you can fully (ex UA IRROPS for that flight) hedge your trip and still refund the ticket if you can get rebooked on UA. Caveat is I don’t know if you already having a reservation for that flight booked directly would mess up the rebooking while you are en route.
