It's not clear from what you wrote who started asking questions.

Presuming that it was you, this was an exceptionally bad idea. The "partnership", such as it is, does not include lounge access being granted solely on the basis of FB status. This does not, however, mean that mistakes cannot be made, and when a mistake is made in your favour, you should not question it.

It sounds like you talked yourself out of lounge access which- although not entitled to - you seemingly would have received if you graciously accepted without query.

When you are getting an advantage - whether expected or unexpected- don't question it. Be gracious, and don't give the agent reason to doubt themselves.
