Alaska kiosks stopped printing boarding passes about a year ago.
This became a bit of an issue for me recently, as I had left behind my IDs at home, and TSA would not verify me with another method with digital boarding pass. I had to step out of security checkpoint after having waited for my turn, convince someone at check-in to issue a paper boarding pass without an ID, and re-join the security checkpoint and wait on line again. I digress...in the end, I made the flight.
Hope this does not become a trend. A large number of pax still use paper boarding pass.
