But if you can find a roundtrip or one-way itinerary that simply has long enough connections that it’s made up of two fares, then only a single upgrade cert is required. Just a loophole to consider.
well that's (probably) not the case here since it's (seemingly, I guess we don't have confirmation) already booked as a single fare element, but in the general case, what are you basing this on? The T&Cs seem to specifically contradict this:
