I think technically the rule still applies but thankfully the agents have discretion on how they enforce it. Like you, I recently showed up ahead of 3 hours for a D1 flight (traffic buffer). The kiosk flashed yellow but the agent dismissed it and let me in with a smile. Similarly, at ATL I've found that if the agent sees you with a purple BP, they wave you right in immediately even if the club is in 1 in / 1 out mode.
Wild that what was once "normal" is now considered an unpublished perk.
We'll see what happens in February I guess.
