CKI staff at MRS a year or so ago made a song and dance that I showed them that letter to allow me to check-in with my ID card, even though the letter says that it has no probatory value (and my pointing this out to them). They were happy once I showed them the electronic version of the letter.
I suspect that I will encounter repeat version of this episode with the passport instead once the ETA requirement becomes compulsory for EU nationals.
