Things were still on the edge. The current weather is at-or-worse than the worst case forecast. I haven't seen this much snow at my house since Snowpocalypse. I woke up this AM to a solid 2" of snow... snow that wasn't supposed to start until closer to 7a.
I had that thought yesterday, so I am not taking advantage of 20/20 hindsight. The forecast then, when they should have made the call, was bad enough.
I know that would have set up DL for the risk things ended up being significantly better than forecast and social media / FT posts and whines like, "[An airline without a hub in ATL] was able to operate its one (or couple of) daily flights to ATL; why couldn't DL??

" and, "The freezing rain changed to plain rain at my house 30 minutes ago and its not so bad here so why is my flight still canceled

." But that would have been a less-worse situation overall to deal with and recover from.
