My lack of motivation is caused by the fact that I may have to book BA and suck it up. I really wish for better alternatives, but for the FAO-LON route they are not really better, just quite a bit cheaper.
in another thread you said

each trip will be evaluated individually and booked with the airline offering the best overall deal
i agree with this, and comfort is part of that "best overall deal", as is TP as were TP and Avios

your issue is not BA has changed that equation for you, your BA journey is not the same value to you that it was, which may, or may not, change your busing decision

I often fly indirect because for me BA, despite the quicker flight time, does not fly the routes I want at the times I want , so that is part of the equation too

But yes, you may accept that, despite removing TP and Avios that you had, despite losing your luggage, despite their reliability issues, BA is still the best overall deal for you

There may be a maybe a lack of direct routes FAO to LON, You can do it in about 5 hours with a stop. the question is , is that additional two hours, the departure times and arrival times, worth the 100Euros sometimes it will, sometimes it will not
