I ve been in that situation quite a few times, always ask for a rebooking on a different flight (day) on AY, AY always rebooked on the flights I wanted, and if needed they paid for a hotel at HEL, also I could rebook my return to a later date since I needed a specific timeframe at the destination.

That was never a problem, trying to get rebooked on a different airline never worked out.
