Service was too good if you can conceive of that possibility. Ended up wanting them to leave us alone (Yes we know how to eat with chopsticks, no don't tuck me in, I'm an adult). But it was a promotional flight so they had their best feet forward I guess. Flight was enjoyable for me (male) but partner (female) described the experience as cloying and condescending.
We are sampling MU in J next month to CDG...will review
As a note on Asian airlines, though not Chinese, Vietnam Airlines on a similar route was much more interesting and better food...especially the French wine choices. Service was present but not overwhelming and the A350 comfortable. Similarly priced. Cons: Long transits in HAN and SGN.
The OP is trying to fly to SVO......not aware VN still flies there.
