Do folks have any recommendations on which luxury hotels that have 2 distinct sleeping areas (e.g. a 1 bedroom suite and a sofa bed in the living room) and great hard product? I am far less sensitive to soft product, the front desk being warm and fuzzy, etc. If we are not in Sentosa (useful because of proximity to beach, Universal Studios, etc.), then I would prefer to be centrally located.

My only past experience staying in Singapore was at the Fairmont pre-Accor merger. It was generally pretty good, from my vague recollection, but not sure it would fit my goals now. Willing to pay decent $$ but not if amenities don't live up to it. Pool, good gym, centrality (if not Sentosa-located) and kid-friendly options (like a kid's club, or more kid-friendly pool) is priority, in that general order.
This is the wrong forum for it to be honest as it clearly isn't luxury, but the Shangri La Orchard has excellent kids facilities. You could book a room in the Valley Wing and enjoy all day free flow champagne while the kids hang out in the kids club/splash park.
