Our first choice was the Shangri-La in Sentosa, but it looks like there will be no suites available during our time frame. Do folks have any recommendations on which luxury hotels that have 2 distinct sleeping areas (e.g. a 1 bedroom suite and a sofa bed in the living room) and great hard product? I am far less sensitive to soft product, the front desk being warm and fuzzy, etc. If we are not in Sentosa (useful because of proximity to beach, Universal Studios, etc.), then I would prefer to be centrally located.

My only past experience staying in Singapore was at the Fairmont pre-Accor merger. It was generally pretty good, from my vague recollection, but not sure it would fit my goals now. Willing to pay decent $$ but not if amenities don't live up to it. Pool, good gym, centrality (if not Sentosa-located) and kid-friendly options (like a kid's club, or more kid-friendly pool) is priority, in that general order.
