We're on this flight early next week and I'm trying to figure out if these recent delays imply any issue for our flight, including how long it will take us to leave CDG.
Yes, the jet stream is unusually far south right now. Normally this time of year there is a strong jetstream (100+ MPH tailwinds) to Europe. Right now there is almost no tailwind, and there are even parts along the route where there is a headwind which is extremely unusual when flying West-East.
It looks like it will somewhat normalize over the next week (although still won't be back to normal) so delays should be reduced.
