The way I read that (and seems to work in practice) is that anything part of the TATL JV counts. So US-LHR on AA and LHR-UK/EU on BA or US-LHR-UK/EU on BA (latter requiring an AA marketed segment).

They really should clarify that, as transatlantic could also be UK-South America, but if everything was clear FT wouldn't need to exist 😂
