I totally agree in spirit, but it's not like even pmAA was any stranger to carts in first class. Even long before the merger, I was shocked to see AA FA's using carts in F between 2007 and the merger, because that was definitely not what I was used to at UA (or even occasional US flights). I don't love the second beverage service cut part of the announcement, but in many ways the carts on 321's are a return to the old AA, which everyone is always asking for.
I'm fine with the standardization of meal taking order though... I think both passengers and crew alike had trouble with the directional order, this is clearer for all.
Carts in F, are not an issue, the lack of drinks service in Y, is my real issue. Pretty soon, the FA's won't have to do anything, except sit in the back galley and talk, since they are there primarily for your safety.
