Emirates is now unlimited so you can ask for more caviar and blinis (indeed it is proactively offered) - for those that care to partake.

I expect everyone has a level of comfort/experience/F&B where they would inconvenience their routing. But that's personal. BA F direct to MLE or EK via DXB in F. Many would go EK, price being equal.
