Book the return ticket with the inbound segments as far in the future as possible. Then hope for a schedule change (more than 15min) or cancellation which will allow you cancel /refund that segment without repricing the outbound segments.

Worst thing that can happen is no significant sch change or cancellation, i.e you no-show for the flights.
