The Grand Wailea is something of a dream destination for kids ages 2-14. It's essentially a massive 4* resort on a beach, and it includes a water park. We stayed there a few times when our kids were at those ages.
That said, the only reason I'd recommend the place is if you have kids in that age range.
I have 3 kids in that range and the pools is the only reason I'm considering staying there. That said, the stories about having to "rope drop" pool chairs really turned me off.
