Hey all, I've been searching around a bit, but it's surprisingly hard to find a straight answer, so I figured I would ask to see if anyone has some recent experience.

I have a Qatar airways award flight booking made with Avios. On the headline figure the website says it is a $25 fee to cancel, but confusingly in the small print of the cash payment in the booking there is the "Redemption fee (non-refundable)".

So the question is: If I cancel an award flight booking, will I receive all cash paid back less $25, or will the amount lost be $25 and this "Redemption fee"?

I know on BA you get everything back but £35.

On the phone the agent said a $25 fee and any non-refundable taxes (? It was very difficult to understand the agent). Though it's known that agents say different things and often don't really know the answer.

Thanks for any insights anyone has on this! Did you get everything back but $25, or did you lose the Redemption fee (or anything else) as well?
